Cicada (code)

Named after a so called game organized by unknown hackers of European origin, Cicada is a code used by professional hackers to communicate between each other while avoiding the usage of the deep web. It is mostly unknown how the language works, but during the last decade, Anonymous has been releasing some information about this code to some governments, allegedly, the Colombian government, as well as others.   Cicada is thought to work by encripting information within the HTML code, modifying parts of the HTML code itself instead of that of a page to encript information. This information has not been confirmed, however, since the usage of Cicada has been proven to the destruction of the page used as the transmitter, the theory has been taken as correct.   The most famous page that was discovered to have been infiltrated by Cicada was that of TVNF (National French Television), as noticed by technicians on 2013. It is thought that it was infected by 2010, by direct connection from to a local server. After "installation", the code was used by criminal organizations and deep web criminals to share encoded secret information. With time, servers started experiencing connection issues, even having a total blackout during a live transmission in October 2012, but it wouldn't be until February of 2013 when the web page started corrupting and showing code on unusual places. Technicians were contacted and secretly contacted the French government, after which all information was to be slowly gathered from updates done into the code. On the 6 months that followed, technicians did as they could to try to cover up the code mess that had been happening on the web page of TVNF, but the page would ultimately collapse on August of 2013, after which it was revealed what had been happening and all criminal encodings stopped suddenly. The page was rebooted entirely and all servers of the TVNF were too, but the corruption of data produced by the use of the code lead to the company to be forced to entirely rebuild their systems and replace everything that had been in contact with Cicada, as information slowly started to deteriorate on those devices in which Cicada had been present.
We noticed strange sequences of data appearing on the source (HTML) code of the page, and upon fixing, more of this mysterious "phantom" code kept reappearing in the page ... and it would ultimately lead to the whole remake of all our electronical devices. TVNF's technician, 2014
