Court of Humanity

Outside

The council sits on a manmade bluff on the southern edge of Lort'yid, the district of the throne. The grounds of the complex also house chambers for the attendants, courtiers, and staff. Several beautifully trimmed trees skip along the road to the main gates. A few fountains bubble into small channels. The roads are not very busy, though during normal hours there is always at least a few parties traveling and talking. Statues of the founder Yveno Sealy, and the builder Roseen Cottmey guard the entrances, made of granite from some far off place.

Inside

The inside of the complex is comprised of the main chambers, the secondary chambers, a cafeteria, a lounge, and sleeping quarters for the courtiers.

Entrance

  • Taste: faintly of wet stone in the air.
  • Sight: Statues of long heroes or old kings, founders of the city throughout its many falls and resurgences. Stairs leading to the balconies and galleries above.
  • Hearing: shuffling footsteps on rugs. Gorgeous marble and diorite walls reflect the chattering of people filtering into the their places.
Keepëré and Anulars stand at attention with banneretted spears insdie and outside the doors and archways. Inside is an atrium with small trees and lush bushes. Past this are the doors to the main chamber.

Main Chambers

  • Sight: Anulars survey the people that come in. Keepëré watch from behind their heavy helmets.
  • Smell: Perfumes from the nobles and officials, dressed up for the occasion.
  • Touch: a drawing out as like a sudden heat that instigates drowsiness creeps on you as you enter.
The room is circular with pillared arches and galleries above for viewing. A central dais rises three steps up, symbolic for each time Hlee was rebuilt. A smooth sandstone balustrade circles the open area. Beyond it, rising rows of chairs ensure good view of the center. The upper balcony is much the same. The chamber is also circular with a middle table on a dais and many other tables forming rows of rings. A little platform on the end of the central table acts as standing ground for those of the chamber to speak their mind. The central table and chairs are for the throne, though the king and queen are not always present. Another seat is adjacent to these for the Chamber Leader to discuss and call to order, currently held by Jensen Wickett.
