Astrid's Ascension

“She was once a child in a faraway land, born to the child of a great archmage. Then, Calamity struck for the second time in the history of this faraway land… and she and two of her closest friends were swept away to a world of great mystery and magick. In this new world, she found herself harnessing the energy of the universe to create civilization anew. It was in the hills of central Tempora where she laid the first brick of society, and began the first Dynasty.
Her skills in the arcane grew exponentially by the day, and upon her 45th year of life, she took in her first pupil. He was an Orcish lad from a tiny hamlet in Ikana, and his thirst for knowledge could not be slaked by anything in the then-wild province.
She raised him as she would her own son and taught him everything she knew. She lived a rich and beautiful life, and the Orcish lad grew up to be a strong individual himself. However, he found himself often overwhelmed by his own power, to the point that it would often harm the undeserving.
When she found herself upon her deathbed, the young man chose to plead to the pantheon for mercy. Through extensive ritual and prayer, he found himself consorting with those who had existed at that time - Fate, Divination, Truth, Wisdom, Nature, and Death. He brought to their attention her incredible deeds in the name of humanity and begged for them to immortalize her. They heard his plea, and with the exception of two, they all consented to the ascension of his mother. She was born again as the Goddess of Arcana, and with this act of incredible dedication, the ideal of Love was born unto Uthilith.
Truth and Death sought something in return for her ascension - Truth sought an equivalent exchange for an immortalized soul and Death sought to make the one who pleaded for her ascension suffer in her wake. The pantheon determined that, to further protect humanity from harm, the child who sought for his mother’s ascension would be forced into eternal solitude at one of the most dangerous places in the world - abjuring the seas from the jaws wishing to swallow them.”
