other Meridia, the primary deity of the Meridian Church and namesake of the Imperium capitol, is best known for birthing the first Highborn and setting the modern Imperium into motion. Considered to be a goddess of creation, life, and fertility, the very foundations of the Imperium's social dynamic come from her role as the mother of all Highborn.
Mortal Life
Once a mortal, much of Meridia's life is often overshadowed by her status as a deity within the Meridian Church. Though her upbringing was lost to history, legend has it that Meridia was a brilliant female warrior during the early days of the Imperium. Her battle prowess drew the attention of suitors from across the human colonies, but it also intrigued the Idale. Story has it that the Idale had been trying to procreate with the humans for years at this point, though it had never been successful. The details are fuzzy, but soon enough, Meridia was found to be pregnant. Miraculously, she survived the pregnancy and birthing of her son, Ailluin the First, who was the first Idale hybrid to ever exist, soon dubbed as Highborn.Mental characteristics
Accomplishments & Achievements
Meridia is said to be the first mother of the Highborn, a feat unknown to the world before she birthed her son, Ailluin the First. Because of this, the Imperium grew to honor her as a godly figure, swearing to further both her legacy and that of the Idale. In her honor, the capitol city of the Empire was named after her.
