Dotting
Very humble. Pretty much just a crossroad. Recovering from hag machinations.
Dotting is a particularly small hamlet within the Western Reach of Dunsland. It consists of a single crossroads - north leading to Teris and south continuing down towards Kingsrest and Bastion. A similar, small village called Tadden is a few hours travel to the west, while the small dirt path to the east leads past a watermill and ends once the terrain gets too marshy for regular traffic.
Most of the inhabitants are farmers, with fields stretching for several miles in all directions. Wheat, cabbages, beans and a small quantity of livestock are the most common products of those who work the land.
Services
Since the events surrounding the hag, Sister Meggett, Dotting does not have any open services or shops. Too many villagers have fled the unknown horrors to make owning a business worthwhile. Previously, there were three locations of note: The Two Tankards inn, a general store and a small smithy that mostly sold horse tack and farming tools.
Government
Dotting is located within the Western Reach and is close enough to Teris that it falls under the direct governance of the duke. Traditionally, the villages and hamlets of Dunsland have a mayor, but Dotting is small enough that this is a post with very little real power. In fact, Dotting usually has the proprietor of the Two Tankards fill the role of mayor.
Defences
Dotting has no constructed defenses to speak of, although the buildings at the crossroads have solid, stone foundations and walls. There is usually a small village guard, technically under the jurisdiction of the Teris guard, but in recent times this has been diminished to a single person - Brent.
