Ishford
Ishford, situated on the northwestern fringes of Natures Reign within the continent of Anebor, was given the title of "The City of 6 Roads" for its 6 bridges that connect the island to the mainland. The city is famous across Urth as being a bastion of innovation and progress. Within its sprawling embrace, the city plays host to a stark juxtaposition, housing both opulent affluence and significant poverty.
The Middleway runs straight through the inner city, cutting it directly in half. The avenue has some of the most fashionable addresses in the whole city, including the great market square.
History and Lore:
Ishford TimelineInception:
Centuries ago, Ishford was nothing more than a modest trading post for those going from Natures Reign, to the frost lands of Abebor. Its strategic safe location at the convergence of multiple trade routes made it an ideal place for commerce as well as fishing and farming using the surrounding lake. As the years passed, the town contained to grow, more people settled there permanently making it a fully functioning town and then city. The Rise of the Royal Family:
Ishford's history took a decisive turn when House Vath, a rising noble family known, established itself in the then town and trading post. They brokered deals, acquired vast wealth, and, over time, managed to secure their position as the ruling family. The ascension of House Vath was marked by a series of strategic marriages, ensuring their bloodline's continued rule. However, even then, their control was often criticized for being driven by self-interest.The Lost Kings
As time flowed on, Ishford's allure continued to grow, drawing countless souls in pursuit of wealth, safety, and the opportunities this island city had to offer. Yet, as the city expanded, so did the power held by the royal family. Some scholars argue that as their influence swelled, the family succumbed to the temptations of excess and indolence which tainted the line (but thats heresy). However, not every king of Ishford finds their legacy celebrated with grand sculptures. Some are consigned to be "lost kings." Upon their passing or fall from power, a deliberate effort is made to safeguard the family's reputation and stability. Any mention of these rulers gradually vanishes from public record, an erasure so methodical that it consigns them to obscurity, buried away from the hallowed grounds of the royal estate. While most of these forgotten monarchs remain as lost as intended, some secrets and actions prove indelible.
Lost king Sobek: He, to gain immortality, worked to take control of a shard. Only the power he got was unstable, corrupted, and unnatural. His face distorted and his mind corrupted. It wasn't even a week before his own family contracted a group of 6 assassins to take his life. They were successful and he was killed before he could release a pestilence upon the city.

Ishford lies on an island nestled within a colossal lake. The island's topography follows a gradual, unvarying slope that peaks at its center, cradling the prestigious Ardonis Quarter. Because of this topography, some of the lakes and rivers are artificially created, including the Rising Canal. Beyond the Ardonis quarter, each successive wall creates a the next district. Progressing downhill from the peak, one encounters deteriorating air quality, overcrowding, and poverty. Ishford's urban expanse is divided into three principal sections: Ardonis Quarter: At the zenith of Ishford's grand topography lies the Ardonis Quarter, a realm reserved exclusively for the city's elite, the ultra-rich and powerful, including the venerable royal family itself. The Inner City: Beneath the shadow of the towering Aranthus Wall, the Inner City thrives as a bastion of privilege and prestige. Here, the wealthy and influential make their homes, from esteemed lineages, names of industry, and those whose thriving businesses have earned them coveted access to this prosperous domain. The Outer City: Beyond the confines of the Valtair Wall, the outermost layer of Ishford unfurls into a chaotic, overcrowded, and perilous expanse. In this vast, sprawling domain, where space and safety can be rare commodities, those with meager fortunes contend for survival amidst the grit and grime of the city's outermost lands. The Outer City dwarfs both the Inner City and the Ardonis Quarter in scale and population, a testament to the stark socio-economic divide that characterizes Ishford.Ardonis Quarter

The inside is designed like a theater with rows of benches in a great half-circle. Where the stage would be is a dais with a high table where the High Chamberlain holds council, as well as seating for the King and Special Council if they attend. The more important the noble the nearer their seat is to the stage area, with lesser nobles further back. Higher up, there is a gallery for 'public' attendees. Tales of hauntings, whispers of necromancy, and legends of devils and demons have taken root, chilling the hearts of the curious. The Felds, although lacking noble lineage and inherited wealth, have carved a significant niche for themselves within the city. Imme, the late matriarch of the family, possessed a remarkable talent for navigating the treacherous political landscape of Ishford. However, she was equally renowned for her boundless charity and compassionate nature. In an unconventional move, Imme chose to conduct her office in the heart of the Outer City. This decision compelled all those who wished to engage with her and her husband to confront the stark reality of the Outer City's plight. Adelbert, the surviving head of the family, has always been more inclined toward innovation than the artifice and intrigue of politics. His expertise lies in the realm of inventions, with his most celebrated creation being a set of eight advanced, fully autonomous automatons. These remarkable constructs have garnered immense interest and desire among various factions, yet Adelbert has relinquished only three of them over the years. After one automaton was used for an offensive raid within the outer city, he has denied any and all negotiations for any additional units, a stance that likely led to the theft of another two of the remaining five. Uwe, the son of Adelbert and Imme, aspires to combine his mother's silver-tongued diplomacy with his father's ingenuity. Yet, the pressure of matching the prowess of either parent proves to be an extraordinarily demanding challenge. The Outer City
The outer city is surrounded by Valtair’s Wall, named after former King Valtair. The outer walls are weaker, lower, and a great deal longer than Aranthus’. Smaller walls run between these two great walls, like the spokes of a wheel, dividing the outer ring of the city into Six districts, each having its own bridge named after one of the builders sons. The Heights
Positioned atop a gentle incline that sets it apart from its neighboring outer districts, 'The Heights' occupies the northern district of the Outer City. Once regarded as a bastion of affluence, this district was where even the wealthiest nobles maintained secondary residences.
