At 30 degrees, north and south, are the Sandworm Latitudes. Sand Dragons prefer to lair at these latitudes, so most of the deserts of the world lie at these latitudes. The high-pressure cells here push precipitation to move north and south of this latitude. These jetstreams both move towards the west.
The equator has low-pressure systems north and south of the equator. North of the equator they rotate counter-clockwise. South of the equator, they rotate clockwise. The equatorial jetstream heads east.
