The White Hearts of Pacillion

The primary order of healers within the temples of Hospitika

This is an order of the god, Hospitika and is one of the largest and most well known of Hospitika's clerics. The Pacillion is focused on all aspects of physical healing. Not only through the divine magic that the clergy receive from their god, but through training and knowledge of aid, medicines, surgery, and wound care. Members wear brilliant white cloths, draped over the shoulder, long trains down the front, capes, and even full robes. The larger the white vestment the higher the rank of the member. The White Hearts operate Clean Houses where they care for the sick and infirmed. The smell of bleaches is always present around a White Heart. The cleaning of wounds and fresh bandages require cloth to be laundered constantly, with bleaching agents to bring back their whiteness--very important in their healing methods.   Pacillion is the highest council of healers in the churches of Hospitika. The Pacillion have gathered tremendous power in several nations. The greatest healers can perform incredible acts of healing, curing illnesses, breaking curses, even bringing the dead back to life. Such resurrection rites require much preparation and a sizable diamond which acts as a medium to draw the mind and soul back to the body. The high cost often means this is only available to the rich. However, the size of the diamond can be difficult to find. The Pacillion is known to own lands where diamond mines operate, with holy warriors and paladins protecting them. This secures the wealth and material resources to offer a second life to the fallen. Such power can wield tremendous influences across not only the wealthy but the nobilities and governments. The Pacillion are rumored to use that power for the church's ends.     White Hearts also heal for free. There is usually a place where a statue of Hospitika stands. In the evening, clerics from the local churches and visitors to the city will heal people. It is usually done at dusk. As towns grew into cities this practice became more unruly. Clean Houses were then constructed around the statues to heal and tend injuries throughout the day. The clerics would decide who was in most need of any healing magics being offered.
