STONE: Etherite

Etherite is the only ore that contains a sufficient amount of the metallic element etherium. Etherite and Etherium are as solid in the Ethereal Plane as they are in the Material World. Incorporeal beings cannot pass through it.  Etherite and etherium are sought after for protection against incorporeal spirits and dangers. Etherium weapons work against incorporeal beings on the Ethereal Plane even though the wielder and weapon are on the Material Plane.  The alloying of etherium with other metals to produce a metal hard enough for bludgeoning, or capable of holding an edge, is practically unknown in the world. Many smelters and smiths believe it has been completely lost to history. Even the refinement of etherium from the ore has not been retained, resulting in poor quality etherium tainted by other metals and elements.
