METAL: Pewter, Iced or Iced Tin

This tin alloy includes lead and creates a safe use of the lead. However, most of lead's special properties do not survive. Visually it has a bluish tint compared to pewters made with copper and antimony. And it may alloy all three metal additivess. The presence of lead does lend it a special dissipation of heat. Once properly worked, the iced pewter stays 12 to 20 degrees cooler than ambient temperature. This makes this in great demand for mugs and cold plates. Iced Tin plates and bowls are bad for warm and hot meals as they leech the warmth from them quicker. Stoneware and ceramics retain heat better and make for exceptional drinkware and flatware for hot drinks and foods.
