Heedonya {Culture of the Resurrection}

Resurrection is central to their culture. Even their heroes are dead.

Heedonya - A Resurrection Culture   Heedonya is a culture deeply embedded the long life, the worship of youth, and resurrection of life. Hospitanya's} members are respected and hold power within their societies. However, Heedonya culture is not seen as true to Hospitanya's teaching. This culture is looked upon darkly within the Hospitika's Holy City of Zurrection.  The neighboring countries of Abraya, Kexxis, and Pahn have a predominantly Heedonya population.  Heedonya has many spiritual healers, preservers of youth and beauty, savants who cure diseases, removers of grand curses, and on rare occasions they raise the dead.  They have cult-like obsessions with youth, beauty, a fear of getting old and feeble, and obsess over death and the dead.     Mauslin, The City of the Dead.  This winding necropolis is filled with magnificent tombs.  It winds through the mountains that are the eastern border of all the three nations. Amongst the dead are great heroes that lie waiting to be resurrected when a great threat arrives. These resurrections have been quite rare, but are a deep part of their mythology of the dead.   The god Sabel is very present in their culture as they dive heavily into death cults, speaking to the dead, and the presence of past spirits in normal life.    Every twenty years, the king of Abraya sends their champions into the Labyrinth, a buried complex of the dead who do not rest. Deep inside is a spring of fire water. The king's torch is carried to the spring, filled with the fire, and then returned to the king.  The torch's fire is said to give the king twenty more years of unaging life. Champions that fail are said to reflect a fall from grace by the king.
