Goblinoids, Hobgoblins

Amongst Goblinoid communities, hobgoblins take leadership roles and seek to dominate the goblins into submission. Even a more educated hobgoblin, would fall into familiar cultural patterns of domination over others, even if it might be kinder, gentler domination. Hobgoblins are quick to anger and take on a fight, which results in them dragging their communities into frequent violence when they are not tempered by more neutral and civil desires. They are a warrior race, and warriors need war. Consequently, hobgoblin-led goblins are regularly launching attacks or defending against them. 
Their rank is determined by their might, and everything is doled out by ranks.  Food, treasure, and opportunity are given to the highest rank first, then down the line to all other hobgoblins, then to the lower goblins.  Hobgoblins live quite well when they have a small goblin horde beneath them.
Hobgoblins are less likely to mix into other racial societies in significant numbers. They tend to be solitary. They rarely leave behind their sense of authority, rigidity to a code of conduct, sense of militant pride, stature, or respect. Military careers are a good match for them, but they can be found in service or as adherents to strict orders and organizations. They are often more well-kept than other goblinoids. Head and facial hair are usually trimmed to a long length but tied back or greased into a stiff and smooth appearance.
