Gilby

Gilby is a large city in the Eldarr Territories of southern Krahnis. Gilby follows Eldarrian Sovereign Law. Along the north road to Meddle, all of the towns as far as Petuntsee have elected to join Gilby's domain. This places the land under Gilby's protection and taxation. This means that Gilby is obligated to protect that road and those towns as part of their state. To the south Gilby extends as far as Yewbatowa and Illendee.
The Viceroy of Gilby is Lord Belliquik, a warrior of renown, who built Castle Gilby with his wealth. He captured several legendary treasures and at least one hoard over the years. The building of the castle, up the side of a low and lone butte, brought trade and people to him. He was savvy enough in trade to maintain the market and the need for craftsmen growing. He is proud, defiant, and demanding. He rules Gilby with an iron fist demanding exceptional results from all.
He has a convocation of enchantresses who advise him and provide magical guidance. Tales say a curse lies sleeping in Gilby. Belliquik's wife died after giving birth to his first child, a boy. His second wife, skilled in practices of magic, bore another son and a daughter.  But the first born son died falling out of a tower window.
