Festival

Festival is the week-long season in the traditional Geonn calendar immediately after Bounty, the season of the warmest weeks with a great deal of harvesting occurring.  It is a celebration of the harvest, but also when communities work together to preserve food for the winter.  Butchering, salting, cooking, jarring preserves, and grinding grains are done communally (especially in smaller communities).  Celebrations are traditionally held half the nights of the week.  Large public ones occur on Divira(2nd), Teemsday(4th), Lome(6th), Jarving(9th), and Laszry(13th, last day of week). On Vurdy (1st day), being the Day of Thanks, many will perform benefactions and rituals to specifics gods. This is the most celebrated day of Geonn the Farmer.
