The Battle of Kirfaan of Marpenoth 9 Ac, or the Battle of Krifaanko (Battle of Kirfaan Bay) was a naval bombardment of anchored Fiongian ships at Kirfaan. Zragar Maccal managed to destroy over 200 Fiongian ships and retreated with minimal casualties.
On Avandras 14th of Marpenoth of the Duryadi caught a strong eastern wind and reached the waters of Kirfaan, where they encountered some Fiongian vessels. These were caught and destroyed, 34 in all. In Kirfaaan harbor they found 470 Fiongian ships. As they approached them, the Fiongians jumped from their ships and rushed to fortifications on the heights overlooking the shore. The Duryadi ships fired on the Fiongian fleet and burned them using fire arrows while the Fiongians fired on them from above in their forts. Even with cannons captured at Kirfaaan, the Fiongians did little damage to the Duryadi warships. By the time the day had ended, 230 Fiongian ships had been destroyed. George Ironfist gave orders to withdraw, ending the battle.
