In 387 and 389 PC, a series of nomad uprisings against Hadad rule in the Sand Sea led the sultan to send one of his most ruthless generals, Hakam el Sallah, along with seventeen regiments of warforged soldiers, to reestablish control. This devastating campaign was later called the Seven Scorchings, because seven al-badia tribes in the region, including the Eaqarab and Qarabut, were put to the torch.
