17. Silent Feast

This large room is set up for a feast. Tables are laden with a plethora of food. Yet the hall is still and silent. There are four grey figures that stare out over the room without seeming to be aware of it. A book lays open on the floor just inside the door. There is also a stack of plates sitting just inside the door.
Written in the book:
Most of the pages of the book are empty. But there is writing on the two pages that the book was open to.   Stay hushed my lovely little child, And don't let your reactions run too wild.   Go about the tables and feast, But don't you wake the lonely beast.   Get some fire beetle paste and mushrooms that blink, But believing you're safe would be dangerous to think.   Vegetable Rolls and Black Lotus Root, Will get you closer to some valuable loot.   Find the eel rolls and the cheese puffs, And gobble up all the stuffs.   Then run away, run away, run away fast, Before little lonely has his day at last.
The players have to go around the room and collect each of the various dishes. They must try each of the mentioned dishes without waking the Lonely creatures that are waiting for their own feasting. This event should be run in initiative to better track the party's movements and actions as they can have an impact on the Lonely creatures. Once the party at least one person has eaten all 6 of the items, they must then take a plate of food to the exit. Doing so will trigger the event to end. Once the event ends, the doors and the Lonely creatures turn to sand.   The Lonely   Characters who investigate any of the tavern tables laden with snacks find an array of magic-infused dishes. Roll or choose an option from Snacks table to see what’s available at any given table. All these dishes include magical ingredients meant to give the dishes a little extra flair. The first time a creature samples any of these dishes, it must succeed on a DC 12 Deception check to avoid making an alarmed face, coughing loudly, or having another potentially embarrassing or disruptive reaction to the food. Each time a party member fails a deception check there is a 50% chance that one of the Lonely creatures will waken.
