One of the few humans who have thrived in Ur, Chancellor Marin-Nebuli is known for exercising a rigid control over her surroundings in order to minimise the discomfort other members of her species seem to experience in Ur. So far, it seems to be working - she is still vital and active in her eighth decade, directing the rapid expansion of the College of Truth with energy and skill.
Having arrived in Ur in her late teens, little is known about how Briar came to join the Clock Tower, let alone to earn membership of the Cult of Smoke. It is rumoured that she has children somewhere, and that they will inherit her noble title - whether or not they are full human is the subject of hushed debate between junior Associates.
