Grave of the Serpent-King

In the middle of the Golden Sands, covered and uncovered periodically by the dunes is the bleached bones of a truly colossal snake-like creature. This place known as the Grave of the Serpent King is a natural landmark in the otherwise endless sand sea. The full size of the skeleton is difficult to determine as most of it remains buried at an given time but estimations put the creatures length between 1/2 and 2 miles long. Such a beast, were it alive would dwarf even the largest Gargant and Aetheray. Not only is its size beyond all logic but a study of its skull resembles no other living creature, making it completely unique. Whatever the creature was, or what killed it remain a secret that it has taken with it to its grave.

History

The Great Snake has been a part of the desert for as long as people have traveled through it. Legends speak of a necromancer who's name is forgotten to history that tried to raise the skeleton as an undead behemoth but what became of either the necromancer or his ambitious project are unknown.
