Plutonian (Ploo-toh-nee-un)

A group of people living in an inhospitable region of the solar sysyem.

Some of the young ones there have never even seen the sun properly. It's just a brighter star. Funny how the things we take for granted are meaningless in the outer solar system, where orbiting lights are all the rage.

Plutonians are people from Pluto. They are generally seen as cold and lonely people, perhaps because of the low surface temperature of Pluto. Stereotypically, Plutonians are also seen as great at winter sports. This is probably due to their large number of competitors at the winter olympics. Plutonians see themselves as a close-knit community. They also generally feel connected to Charonians. The relationship between Plutonians and Charonians could be compared to that of member states of the European Union in the late 20th and early 21st century, with people eaily able to cross from one to the other, and with their political systems closely intertwined, yet distinct. Pluto isn't seen as a good place for the elderly, due to the extreme cold, however Plutonians are generally long lived, to the shock of people in the inner solar system.

Plutonians are highly interested in winter sports. The planet has hosted the winter olympics five times.

Common Dress code

Plutonian clothes emphasise keeping the warmth in. Plutonians will dress in clothes covering most of their body, and gloves are an absolute necessity when outside.

Art & Architecture

Plutonian buildings are low to the ground, and often close together, to decrease heat loss.

Funerary and Memorial customs

Like the rest of the solar system, Plutonians observe Final Sendoff. on top of this, in many places on the one year anniversary of a person's death is marked by burying a possession the person valued underneath the ice.
