Martian

I've lived on Mars my whole life and let me tell you something; It's not the barren wasteland people make it out to be. Oh no, whilst there are deserts, and sand everywhere that isn't an ocean, it's not just deserts. That's a cliché from the olden days, that is.
Martians have a rich history, with some ancient families who have been living on the red planet for almost two hundred years.
Martians are people from Mars, the majority of whom are families who have been living there for about 10 generations. This therapy has lead to possibly the most diversified culture inThe sol system.   Martian culture is, in some ways, less accepting than the cultures found in other places of the solar system, as a lot of the first colonists on Mars left Earth to escape people who they considered ‘degenerate’, Mars is often compared to the general population of Earth in the early 21st century in this way, due to the younger generation being more accepting.   Despite being settled for centuries, Mars’ borders, especially in the southern continent, are the most rapidly changing, with many disputed territories which are being argued over, this has led to the general perception that Martians are argumentative, hot tempered, and sometimes even arrogant.

Average technological level

Mars is considered a Solar Class II planet, with generally good access to most technology, Martian technical systems are, however, prone to failure, with frequent outages due to sandstorms, as they haven’t worked out how to not have outraged during these, Mars cannot new d Considered a SCI planet.

Art & Architecture

As all of Mars either is or was dessert, a lot of architecture is similar to Middle Eastern Terra, this leaves the Bob desert areas of Mars looking unique, as they aren’t built for the surrounding area.

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

One observed tradition is the celebration of the Martian new year, this happens roughly every other year, and people normally celebrate by painting their faces red using a mixture of the red dust and water. This is most common in the Southern Hemisphere, especially around the Hellianic Ocean.   In the areas with less sand available, the paint is often normal red face paint. The patterns drawn vary between cultures.

Ideals

Gender Ideals

Most Martians expect someone to identify strongly with their gender, especially if they identify as something different to what the person was identified as at birth. They also have a slight division in what they expect men and women to want to do, and sometimes they expect them to be able to do different things depending on their gender.   With the younger generations being non binary is more accepted, and more people are gender non conforming.

Relationship Ideals

The ideal relationship on Mats is between two people, in most sub-cultures. Martians often prefer it if the couple fits in some way into a ‘straight’ relationship, this spent mean they expect the couple to be one man, one woman, but that they expect, when the couple consists of two men or women, that one will take in a role more related to the opposite gender. This belief is changing, especially with the younger generation. It is thought that this is linked to stone of the original colonialists leaving Earth to get away from so-called ‘degenerate’ gender and sexuality identities.
