Elysium (Nation)
Elysium is an island nation in the Northern and Eastern hemispheres of Mars (Timezone: MTC+9, also known as EMT). It's four major cities are Rupes, Fossae, Mons, Stygis and Elysium, it's capital. Other cities include Albor, Catena, Zephyrus
When terraforming began, it was thought that Elysium would stay connected to the mainland, however, it became apparent that water levels were rising faster than expected, cutting it off. Elysium didn't lose any of its southern cities, although it gained many residents from previously above-ground settlements. It did, however, lose Iberus.
It includes two mountains, the Elysium Mons (home to the city of Mons) and the Albor Tholus. It includes a spaceport at Elysium, Albor and Stygis, as well as an airport at Stygis, Elysium and Fossae.
Elysium started as a British colony and became a part of the Commonwealth in 2146. Its flag is a blue background with the Union Jack in the upper-left quarter, a brown stripe and a single red star in the lower-right quarter.
Its national language is English and it uses the Elysium Sterling.
