Unveiled Primer

The world of Unveiled is a modern setting, that follows our history until about 15 years ago, when suddenly you were confronted with a new reality:
Feys exist. They have always existed, but they have been hidden from the eyes of man, either as normal humans going about their day or as invisible creatures, coexisting with humanity, only to be known about through what was once just unlikely mentions in old folklore and mythology.
Now they are here, and they fight for the right to be seen and coexist openly with humans, but the transition has been anything but amicable:
At worst they are treated as demons and heralds of the end-time, hunted by lynch mobs, declared unwelcome by governments.
At best they are second class citizens relocated to countryside communities.

Feyfolk are a varied bunch. Beyond any kind of fey you may have heard of, the term also covers:
Àlfs: An eerily beautiful nature loving people, often content with living in small communities.
Vettir: A human variant touched by magic. Historically these include most of the pantheons of gods.
Jotun: A sapient species with great dimorphism. Some appear human in all matters, while others are natural shape-shifters, very large, or stony looking etcetera.
Fomori: The monstrous cousins of the Jotun, who are unreachable and unpredictable.

Besides these new creatures, other unbelievable facts have become known to man:
There is a world parallel to our own, known as Otherworld. A place where many of these creatures come from. A vast world of mostly untamed wilds.
Magic exists. Not generally applicable magic that can be used for spells or such, but a force of nature with a will of its own, which - if you're lucky - can be guided to act or reveal things through ritualistic ceremonies.

While some of these subjects are inevitably big scale issues, the world of Unveiled focuses mainly on the personal experiences of individuals in this world.
While the world hints at places where fey only live in fear and despair, the story mainly takes place in the relatively safe places for these beings, setting a stage where the knife's edge balances between the hope for normalcy and coexistance and the gnawing fear of excusion and persecution.
The stage is driven by the individuals' hopes, dreams and fears more than anything. Its stories - about friendship, love, loss and survival.
