The "Triumph of The Spirit" Ritual

Under the Sigrblót full moon, the first ritual of the night is the "Triumph of The Spirit".
Here every Changeling of age is encouraged to embrace their Fey ancestry and release the residual hold, the The Great Veil has held over their genes.

History

In the early years after The Unravelling, it became evident, that something had changed.
The Changelings no longer became true Fey.
This was believed to be mostly due to the fact that their Fey parents were unable to find them now that they had been replaced.
It is believed that as most of the magic hiding the Changelings had been broken, so too had a magical cord, that the parents would follow or pull to be reunited with their true children.
In the north, Àlf and Germanic Vettir trained in Sejd proposed a ritual to alleviate the Changelings of their residual magic, which was agreed upon, and decided to be included in the yearly celebration of future victory - Sigrblót
While no Changeling is forced to perform the ritual, they are encouraged to on the basis that this is their Fate and Destiny.
Fey Folk would like to perform this ritual upon a Changeling turning 15, but many governments, including the German, has ruled that the Changelings would have to complete their basic education first.

Execution

The ritual starts with the humming chanting of the observers, as the leading sejdkona chants on her own, as she walks from participant to participant and smears their faces in fresh animal blood from a wooden bowl. Hereafter they form a line and to the build-up of the chanting, they sprint down a runway formed between the observers, ending in a ramp and a fiery hoop, the participant jumps through, dispelling any lingering magic on them and their true fey genes burst though.
Hereafter the finished participant now waits at the endline for the others to finish, before the general celebration continues, should they be able to do so.

Depending on what they emerge as, some either leave directly for Otherworld, a new life driven by Fey Compulsion, or are aided to a safe position.
After the last participant finishes, the hoop is doused with water, and the new true Fey are congratulated, while the party continues, until the next ritual of the evening is ready.

Components and tools

The participants are covered in symbolic body paint, and perfom the ritual either in the nude or in a very simple, loose gown.
Chickens offered for their blood to be used.
A ramp and a hoop lit on fire form the stage.
Alcohol is usually present in large amounts.
While officially shunned, the celebration is surmised to be the most popular one for the consumption of magic mushrooms.

Participants

A Sejdkona leads the ceremony - usually a Vettir with the status of Dís.
The participants are Changelings of age. In Germany, the agreed upon age is the first Sigrblót after they finish their base education, which usually means at age 18/19. Every adult is encouraged to be present to observe the ritual and join in on the chanting and celebration.

Observance

The ritual is part of the Sigrblót celebration, which falls on the first full moon after the new moon after the spring equinox.
