Valkettu the Bright
Valkettu is the fox god of life. Foxes believe that Valkettu was the first god to awaken in the primordial, unformed world and that he used the chaos of precreation to create life so that he wouldn't be alone in the world. A very popular deity across most tribes, some faith refer to Valkettu as the Allfather where other traditions hold that the Allfather is a seperate figure created the gods including Valkettu. Valkettu is depicted as a borean fox with white-gold fur that glows like the winterlights and bright blue eyes with golden flecks and a tail made of stardust like a comet trail.
Many wolves also worship Valkettu, though they often dispute the order in which the gods were born, placing Svargarm the Black Wolf as the first god to be created. In the Kingdom of Giltbough and Ursaan the first day of harvest season is celebrated as Valkettu's Feast where any remaining stores of grain from the previous harvest is offered to the god of life to bring good luck on the next harvest. It is believed that after the end of the world Valkettu and Svargarm will be wed and birth the next Allfather, continuing the cycle of the birth and death of creation.
Valkettu is depicted with a white borean fox motif with silver filigree and sapphires for eyes. Borean foxes wear silver necklaces depicting the motif and it is customary to buried with the necklace clutched in the deceased's hands. A common artistic depiction has the god mates Valkettu and Svargarm together with their tails intertwined symbolizing the relationship between life and death. The wolves of Terra Viridis annoint their ships with water used to soak white roses, a common symbol of Valkettu. Viridin wolves also believe that a lost sailor can follow the winterlights to safety.
