Royal Knights of Giltbough
Order of knighthood operating in the Kingdom of Giltbough. Historically a well respected fighting force, in recent times they've largely diminished due to the general state of peace the northern reaches have experienced of late. Led by Knight-captain Emir Fenriksson and answering to the Royal Family of Giltbough, the Royal Knights defend the cities of the Kingdom of Giltbough. City knights within the Royal Knights also double as protection details for Arborean pilgrims and convoys carrying grandfather wood. The Arboreans can also call on knight-sergeants and their subordinates to escort Cultivators carrying grandfather seeds between Arbors.
The crest of the Royal Knights is a pair of crossed swords pointed down with the Royal Family's crowned grandfather fircone sigil above. This symbol has been in use since the founding of the order under the first Sciurine King Adelbert I. Their motto is "Ehre, Mod, Vakaus" which means "Honor, Courage, Loyalty" with one word taken from the Squirrel, Rabbit, and Fox languages respectively.
