The Red Beryl Holding Company

While not the only bank in the Realms, the Red Beryl Holding Company is easily the most well known, largest and without argument the most prestigious. They have thousands of branches throughout the world, dozens in each of the major cities throughout the world and even a few minor branches here and there in smaller settlements.

Structure

The Bank is organized like any modern corporation. A president and owner of the company lies at its head, with a board of directors making all of the major administrative decisions under the direction of the chief executive officer. There are various other high level positions of myriad importance, but for simplicity's sake we will not mention those.
On the branch level, each branch has a branch manager (almost always a member of the Silverhalls clan) under whom are several tellers, loan officers and account managers who all work together to manage the ins and outs of the bank.

Public Agenda

The goals of a company the size of RBHC are hard to pin down and are constantly shifting from financial quarter to financial quarter. Generally one can assume the that company’s growth and profits are always their primary concern.

The values of the Red Beryl Holding Company can be summarized in one word: Profit. That’s it.

Assets

In recent decades the bank has actually began to branch out into other holdings and businesses. The bank currently owns several dozen subsidiaries and twice as many affiliations across the globe. They fund expeditions across the world for exploration purposes, own an massive fleet of merchant vessels rivalling the Imperial Armada in number and possess major political influence with every major governmental body in Unorrea. They also hold hundreds of prestigious auctions during the year, sponsor tourneys and run several charities. The Red Beryl Holding Company is the closest thing one can get to a mega corporation in a fantasy setting.

History

Originally founded by the Dwarves of the Silver Halls hailing from the Mountains of Creation the bank was actually a small company utilized almost exclusively by the dwarves until the Shayador Empire rose to power and nationalized the company nearly five centuries ago. While still owned and operated by the Dwarves of Silver Halls in spirit, the bank is federally insured and backed by the Empire’s massive treasury and what the empire says goes.
