Light of Arpad

Also known as the light in the darkness, The Light of Arpad is a Moonbladed halberd symbolizing righteousness in the north. Originally gifted to Arpad on his crusade against the undead of Rivell, it became part of the royal regalia for the Kingdom of Arpad, though only six kings wielded it.

Description

May the cleansing light guide your way
- Elvish inscription on the wood.
A long halberd made of silver steel. crystals adorn the joins between the staff, blade, and spike. The staff is made from white oak with a platinum flame pattern at the bottom. An inscription is carved down the back of the wood. The main blade is a large axe head shaped like a crescent moon. Of all the Moon Blades, the light has the brightest glow.

History

Forge by the Moonfire master Smiths forged the light specifically to battle the undead, being the first Moonblade to have a unique property for the first wielder rather than being a razor-sharp magical sword. Wielded throughout Rivell by Arpad, it was one of the few items he took to Frostmourn with him. As it passed down the line of Kings, however, most kings usually kept it in the vault, favouring a sword. Several other members of the Arpad line did take up the blade when going into battle. By 100 Fey the blade had become dormant.

Crisis of the Fey Age

During the crises, the halberd was retrieved from the vault by László as he escaped Vargh Arpad, Training as his weapon of choice it was originally seen as a magical weapon from home. As it reawakened, ignited by its wielder's conviction, the Light of Arpad became a symbol to rival even the Moon Saber. When László finally realized what it was he had, he performed the bonding ritual and was accepted, making a few suspects he had links to the royal line. In response to this new bond, the Light seemed to emanate László's courage though he's aura. After László's death the halberd is displayed in the main guild hall of Vragh Arpad for worthy champions to try and claim.
