A young pirate captain whose life was marked by tragedy and suffering, Gilda became infamous in her short life only for her to disappear after a run-in with the Ghost ship.

A Human water-touched, Gilda was often mistaken for a siren due to her pale blue skin and finned ears, she is also athletically built but slender. Her bright auburn hair was kept short in her teen years, to make it easier to disguise herself as male, but was grown long and often put into a wavy ponytail as an adult. She is often seen with a fancy rapier and rum bottle.History
Birth and early life
Born to a lesser Barron of north Rivell, Gilda was supposed to be the heir of the castle, however, due to being a)female in a male-obsessed family and b)having blue skin and finned ears, she was despised by her father. Believing his mother had committed infidelity, he shammed her as often as he could. While still young her father in a drunken rage beat Gilda's mother to death before turning to her. The next morning his guards found him drowned in a bathtub of wine, her dead mother, and a missing Gilda. Gilda had dressed as a boy, cut off as much hair as she could, and fled the night before. She had joined the first ship crew she could as a guy, this ship however was a pirate ship called woman's wail. Gilda quickly found out that the name was due to it being a slave ship, specializing in female transport. Throughout her young years, she kept her gender secret, even in her early teens.Woman's wail
In her early teens, Gilda started finding it harder to conceal her gender, learning to bind her growing chest and being secretive about issues she encountered with her body, often talking to slaves about it. She also did what she could to make them more comfortable. The captain was a violent drunk, however, often beating up younger members of the crew he considered weak. Being on the receiving ends of several of these beatings early, Gilda learned to defend herself, becoming quite adept at unarmed and sword combat. Putting the captain on his arse in one beating seemed to make him angrier, though this was taken out on a crewman who laughed at it. Her beatings stopped after that, though things would still be thrown in her general direction, as with every crewman. At 15 her secret was discovered by the first mate, Christoph, who walked in on her rebinding herself. He had grown a soft spot for her and though he had 'secret' relations with several crew, some even suggesting the captain, he had never tried with her, claiming that 'though you're attractive, I just don't feel that way'. Learning this he joked it made sense and kept her secret. This new friendship led to a lot of jealousy among the other crew, as they believed it was more than friendship. Though nothing was done about it, Gilda developed feelings for Christoph.Captain's wraith
In 974 chroma at 18, Gilda's 'luck ranout'. During a battle against a ship of the white fleet, a stray arrow cut open her top, revealing the bindings, and thus her gender. Seized after the battle and the, currently very drunk captain, went to beat her again, only for Christoph to intervene trying to remind the captain how good a crewman she was. This led to an accusation of treason and dallying with 'this whore' before beating him to death. Enraged Gilda started to curse out the captain, only for him to start coughing up rum. The captain drowned in his own drunkenness, as the rum in his body seemed to travel and fill his lungs, by the enraged will of Gilda. Picking up his hat, sword, and bottle of rum, Gilda took control and ordered the crew to free the prisoners and everyone could either take the white ship under her command or jump on a lifeboat and flee. All in all, she had a full crew from around half the original crew and prisoners. She also swore never to hide who she was again and punish those who had wronged her.Captain Rum lover
Over the next few years, Gilda became the scourge of the Gem sea, destroying and looting merchant, trade, and war vessels alive. She seemed to especially target slavers and Rivellian ships. Near always seen with rum in her hand, a bottle at first but later a glass, she earned the name rum lover. Though Rivell dubbed her Sea hag due to the fact the sea itself would seem to go against the ships she raided. Changing ships every so often, the ships she captained flew a blue flag of Rivell with a glass of rum ringed by skulls.Fate
Early in 980 Chroma, she discovered that Rivell was sending a massive fleet of goods to Shadow's port. Deciding this would be the prize of a lifetime, she started developing a plan to capture it. Grabbing the best ship she knew of, Siren's Doom, she raided weapons, ships, and supplies from various other groups, including pirates. At some point in the year, she had gained the attention of the ghost ship that choose the eve of the ambush to attack. The only ship to escape was Siren's doom and that was only with one crew member. While it is suspected Gilda died in the attack, her body was never found, even the Naga claim to not have found the body. Rivell who had placed a bounty on her a few years before kept the bounty, not convinced she was dead. In 122 fey, the bounty still stands.Skills and powers
Skilled both in unarmed combat and swordsmanship, Gilda is a fierce fighter, however, that isn't the most dangerous combat ability she had. Gilda, as an adult, shows remarkable skill at controlling liquids, able to, though temporary, change sea currents, form geysers, and create sudden water attacks. She was especially skilled with alcohol-based liquids, being able to manipulate it within a body. She was definitely the cause of her old captain's death and many suspects that was responsible for her fathers. These powers however only became apparent and controlled after using them on her old captain. Gilda is also skilled in sailing, navigation, and the appraisal of objects.
