The Pen

Look, I'm sorry! Alls I said was t' write it down— ya don't need t' pull out yer gun!

The Pen is a specially crafted gun, wielded by the saawkamut-turned-playwright Lasaak Powlaan.

Mighter Than the Sword

When Lasaak grew weary of fighting, and began to shift focus to writing plays— she couldn't bring herself to put down her gun. Giving her trusty sidearm to her gunsmith, she asked that they create something that could help her with her new profession. Once a threatening tool of death— her revolver was returned to her as something entirely different. Its barrel was shaped to mimic a fountain pen, replete with the classic pointed tip in place of an open barrel. The metal was stained black, with golden trim, and several swords were engraved along the cylinder, so that they would always be visible no matter its orientation. As a final touch, the hammer was fashioned into a feather.
When fired, rather than sending a spell through a target— the gun fires words. Granted, these still burn, but just enough to scorch themselves onto paper— not through it. Anything Lasaak thinks can be sent through the gun, and she can fire entire paragraphs at a time if she thinks fast enough. With her new tool in hand, she would go on to write her best work— though without the quiet sounds of pen on paper, and the explosive, startling noise of her repurposed firearm.

Words will hurt me

When met by former rivals, bandits, or other threats— Lasaak is still able to use the Pen offensively. The harsher her words, the more damage they will deal on contact.
A few unfortunate souls now have insults permanently burned into their skin.
