Vast Swamp
A huge swamp in the center of the Linwood Barony.
Localized Phenomena
Ever since the chaos bubble, there has been a permanent thundercloud over the swamp. The swamp has also been shifted into another plane where the magic messes with the inherent weave and corrupts plants.
Fauna & Flora
The swamp fever is a deadly disease associated with the Vast Swamp. There are also rumored to be undead in it.
Giant spiders have also been spotted crawling around and have been dubbed the minions of Lolth.
History
At one point the swamp was ruled by a witch-king and his undead armies. He was driven out by Cormyr forces. Some time later, black dragons moved in, and were eventually driven out by lizardfolk tribes. This lead to retaliation from a black dragon named Despair who had an army of something called Shadow Scales that killed most of the lizardfolk. Cormyr allied with the remaining lizardfolk tribes, and with the help of some heroes drove out the dragon. More recently an adventuring group called the Moon's Twelve went in and discovered some ruins in the center of the swamp. Most of them died to a beholder, while the sole survivor who scrabbled out was killed by swamp fever. Someone else also journeyed into the swamp and back out again and started talking about the wizards allying with devils although no evidence was found.
