The Problem with Hags

After the wedding, Larkspur was contacted by Tasha about doing some Crown of Eyes work. Apparently there was a hag with a demiplane in the middle of some nearby woods who ran essentially a summer camp for some prospective witchlings. This camp also double as a test of sorts; weaker witchlings would be sent home, while stronger ones would be consumed by the hag. Tasha wanted the hag dead and so see of some of these witchlings couldn't be recruited for the Crown of Eyes. Tasha originally proposed that the party replace some of the witches, potentially with others posing as familiars. In the end the party decided to teleport to the hag and kill her before the witchlings got there, and then run the summer camp themselves.

This, somewhat predictably, did not go according to plan.

The party was split up early on, fighting their way through various blood creatures. Larkspur released a devil, Meph- 03, after securing a promise that he would help kill the hag. Unfortunately, the devil was a friend of the hag; Eden was sidetracked fighting him. Eventually Cribbins managed to sneak his way into the room where the hag was. Gira had gone down, and Argent teleported him away from the fight to try to stablize him. Larkspur had gotten stunlocked for several rounds before finally managing to escape and take off to where the hag had been found. As they charged in, they were hit with a finger of death which dropped them to 0 hp. They died. Cribbins absolutely decimated the hag, who had, several rounds prior, cast death ward on themself. They survived by crawling their remains into Larkspur's corpse and piloting them before Cribbins managed to kill them again

Meanwhile, Larkspur found themselves in the library of the Raven Queen, whom they had a pleasant conversation with. The RQ implied that the final piece of the god of chaos, the bow, was a sher/her person. Larkspur also took the opportunity to call back the devil that had died before it could fulfill the deal they made. The devil transported them back to the hag's demiplane, where he deposited their soul into the house that Larkspur then took over. After a little bit of frantic tinkering on Cribbins's part, Larkspur's soul was placed safely back into their body. The demiplane began to collapse as Larkspur, now the owner, did not have the magical energy to keep it up. As it finished shrinking, the party heard a knock on the door- the first of the witchlings had arrived.

After some tests, more or less following the hag's lesson plan, two new witchlings were recruited to the Crown of Eyes coven: Annise Marsolath and Shelda. At this point Tasha teleported in, frantic. She had killed one the tower hags that Larkspur had originally bargained with, but another had seen her do it. And now the party only had 72 hours before that hag could inform the others and send the whole coven after the party. The party was in need of a rest and Larkspur was in need of some serious repairs, so the two new witchlings were sent with Tasha while the rest of the party headed to Suzail to make use of Cribbin's lab.

Once the repairs were complete, the party followed Tasha to a small town that had had children go missing for the past several years- as far as anyone could tell, they just got up and walked into the swamp. The party followed their trail and wound up trapped in their worst memories by some minor demons. After breaking free, they found themselves at the outskirts of another hags lair. Eventually they managed to kill the two hags hiding out, and aspects of their magic were gifted to the two new coven members. Right as the party was finished looting, Wigglesme-Tigglesme showed up with two robots.
