Regaclith
The group then finally made it to Regaclith , where there is a strong adventuring guild, a thieves guild, and a magic university. This is where the group was supposed to teleport several hundred miles. The city has the remnants of a floating city, a precariously balanced rock formation shaped like an hourglass. The party’s first stop is to a cousin of Moop's, Boop, who runs a blacksmith shop, in the hopes of getting Larkspur’s arm repaired and items upgraded. They are informed by Boop’s younger, quicker, assistant that they need to get some poppies from the druid encampment outside of the city. The druids say they are out and, and point the party in the direction of the field where poppies grow. The party goes and wrestles the poppies away from some very high llamas. The druids then prepare the poppies, and the resulting powder is then taken back to Boop, who uses it to speed up. He then takes the tusk from the ghost boar, some harvested spider parts, and builds Larkspur a hand that operates as a physical mage hand.
The party then took a series of side quests from the local adventurer’s guild, under the party name of the Chaotic Adoption Agency. With the exception of Lux , who created his own party under the name of Big Hero Six. Joining the guild came with an unmarked adventurers card that would gain more stars as quests were completed. One of them was to clear out the worryingly large amount of rats in the sewers. The part discovered that the rats were literally duplicating themselves. They used the book of plot twists, recently purchased via a bag of blood and oil from a traveling goblin salesman to cause the rats to explode the next time they tried to divide.
At some point, we took a sidequest that I think was to discover where a missing child had gone. We found they had been taken by goblins, and promptly started a goblin dungeon crawl to get them back. There were so many traps. So. Many. While we were down there, our Fang blew up a whole bunch of goblin children, with Larkspur only managing to save one- a child named Timmy the Goblin. We also met Dane, a human(?) cleric(?). Dell and Lux also dropped down a deep ravine to pursue a powerful goblin by the name of Dave. They didn’t find Dave- instead, they fought a flail snail. We got to the final battle with the goblins including one called Red, who had a gun. They also had a statue of Wigglesme-Tigglesme that they worshipped, and some weird barrel-spirit thing that Larkspur saw with their truesight. We saved the missing children and left.
While we were underground, there was also an attack on Regaclith by a dragon, slain by another adventuring party.
Larkspur left the adopted Timmy and the winged cat with the magic university.
The party then took a quest from the local thieves guild, to retrieve a large sum of what I think was counterfeit money in a mine that had been infested by some sort of bug-creature. On the way to the mine, Larkspur had a dream that they were in the bag of holding and that the rift to the Astral Sea was open in front of them. Thinking it was a dream, they dove in.
That was, to put it simply, a terrible idea.
It turns out that it wasn’t quite a dream, and Larkspur was yeeted from the bag onto the ground. The rest of the party woke to find their robot rogue convulsing on the ground, leaking Astral Sea, their truesight amethyst eye welded into their face with a dragon’s pupil in it. At some point in this sequence, Larkspur also gained lightning scars from their eye down their arm to their palm. This freaked Larkspur out, but on the party went.
The group made it to the mine and met with and befriended the thieves guild representative there, a catfolk who made them dinner and gave them a place to rest. After some honestly impressive strategizing, managed to take out a large chunk of the burrowing bugs that had invaded the mine while retrieving the counterfeit money. As they rode away, a huge one of the bugs lunged up from the ground and ate the catfolk. On the way back, Larkspur went into the bag and had another talk with the Astral Dragon therein and discovered that in order to save their life the night they plunged into the Astral Sea, they had struck a bargain. Knowledge for help and power. Larkspur was now a warlock.
Once they got back to the city, the party as a whole finally jumped through the teleportation ring to continue the main storyline.
