Personal history
Served as the Archmage for Regaclith pre-spellplague. Likely buried/interred at the college. Was 300+ years old at the time of the death of Prince Derek. Was human. Very, very, powerful archmage.
Castle was destroyed in the events of the spellplague, Regaclith University was built on top of the ruins; the catacombs beneath the university are the remnants of his tower. Mostly cleared of magic, but some remains and creatures have moved in. Forbidden to students unless they have supervision.
Edit: Possibly Crasis's mentor. Probably not his castle; may have been Crasis's.
