In Between

After the parties jumped through the portals, they wound up in an in-between plane with Bahamut who wore the form of an elderly man. Bahamut explained that the god of chaos had reincarnated, unbound by the contract between gods that forbade interference. In order to rebind him, we needed to find artifacts of the three lawful gods- information on the staff of Mystra is in the Shadowfell, with Argent's father, Silatheron. Silatheron is being held by an archlich planning to invade Regaclith. Silatharon is also to be Bahamut’s next avatar, which would help in a fight against the chaos god.

We are given a choice. We can return to the material plane, or we can go to the Shadowfell and hopefully free Argent’s father, retrieve the staff, and kill the lich. We decide to go to the Shadowfell.

Before we go, Bahamut agrees to let Larkspur contact their people on the material plane. We get in touch with Dane and then Timmy the Goblin and let them know that we’re alive and what we’re planning. Lux plays basketball with Bahamut and gets totally beat. Lux then bullies the god into giving him a hippo- or more accurately, a small wooden statue of a hippo that can be the actual thing for an hour every day.

We leave for the Shadowfell, Cath and the roc staying behind with Bahamut.
