Detention!

Timmy the Goblin heard Azazel talking smack about his roommate Freckle Fingle and tried to hit him with some dust of sneezing and choking. Azazel responded by hitting back, and the both of them received detention, where they met with the rest of the Detention kids. Unfortunately, Malcador the Infinite was running the detention, and he sent them on a quest to retrieve some fragments of an item. The person who got the most fragments received some extra credit(?) or something. The group descended through the first two levels of the catacombs where they began to encounter a series of puzzle rooms. The first involved fishing a door out of a lava pit, the next performing a series of playground activities in a specific order, the third connecting a series of pipes together to route steam from one end of the room to another. Each room also contained a fragment of the item Malacador was, theoretically, talking about.

The next room was a series of buttons that had to be rapidly pressed to open the next door; pressing them slowly resulted in a poisonous gas being released into the room. After that there was three pedastals hold a wooden statue of a goldfish, a finch, and a spider respectively. There was also a birdcage, a small webbed maze, and a fishbowl with buttons in them. Picking up the a statue caused the player to turn into that respective animal, allowing them to enter the matching environment and press the button to open the door. The final room contained Jacob Brewer who allowed the players to kill him the requisite 3 times in return for some new schoolbooks and jacks. He also revealed that this whole process was usually done to administer the wizard mastery test, a kind of final exam before graduation from the university. The next room was supposed to be where where the written exam took place.

The next room contained some desks that when the Detention crew sat down in trapped them in place. The whole room also prevented the casting of magic. Malacador entered, wearing a pin that allowed him to use magic, and retrieved the fragments the party had collected. He got Carlo to recite an incantation to reassemble them into one of the demiliches originally belonging to Frank the Three-Headed Lich. This process was supposed to kill Carlo, but he survived thanks to having cast death ward on himself and the rest of the party. Malcador revealed that he had retrieved the other, intact demilich after the The Battle of Regaclith and had decided to pursue lichdom. However, when he placed both demiliches on his shoulders, they slammed together, crushing Malcador's skull and themselves, resurrecting Frank.

Azazel snapped back to his original body and used it to retrieve Gogingle while the rest of the party stalled Frank. Carlo recieved a job offer as a general (which he said he would accept), while Timmy ate a hit due to provoking Frank with his connection to Larkspur. Boltorb the Bandit attempted to persuade Frank to make him his advisor, under the premise that he could provide theoretically infinite money. Frank was just about to teleport out with Carlo when Gogingle arrived just in time to counterspell.

From there the fight ensued. Frank created a multitude of clones who's main ability was to paralyze whatever they touched. He also took some kind of message and his response implied that he was tangled up with Vecna somehow. Red also appeared, invisibly taking shots at people. After some back and forth where Gogingle trapped Frank in the room, Boltorb the Bandit executed a self destruct maneuver in an attempt to take Frank out. He got very close but ultimately failed. This also caused Gogingle to drop and lose concentration on what was trapping Frank in the room, so he teleported out.
