Beneath the Waves
The Drowned Crew were gathered in Neverwinter at the Roasted Quail by Mikail, who was offering a large sum of money for some adventurers. When the party gathered, they discovered that he was seeking people to do a blockade run to get some Residium to the Ahm Empire. The party agreed, and set sail on Baboon P. Goofy's ship. While about halfway there, the party was ambushed by both some people seeking the bounty on Goofy and a raiding party from Bezdan.
The party was dragged beneath the waves to Bezdan where they were enslaved. The party all had the knowledge of common swapped for knowledge of underaquan. Loyal the Braveheart tried to take a stand against Baron Bortles of Bezdan, who was overseeing the procedure, and was promptly killed for his efforts. The party had their initial gold swapped out for slimes that allowed them to breath underwater for an hour at a time, and were given Jean DePawnd as their guide. He helped them get to Fin Balor's shop, where they sold Loyal's gear for more loot. Jean also guided the Drowned Crew to the Calamari Cusiano to get lunch, where they heard about a grand tournament that was happening tomorrow, with the implied grand prize being escape from the underground, underwater city.
The party entered the tournament. The first set of challenges happened in the backrooms maze, where the party chose to chop apart sections of the halls to form ships to travel between the halls in the dark void they existed in. They happened upon a maze where they chase a goldfish while avoiding sharks that swam within bubbles of oozes. Next was a standardized test that they managed to cheat their way through by working together; they found themselves in and escaped the meat grinder, and bargained with a fellow player for the answer to the last puzzle.
After having completed the first challenge, the party found themselves in the center of a tunnel crossroads. The north had an air bubble, the east was full evil-looking shadowy figures, the south path crackled with electricity, and the west felt like some sort of psychic thing. After some discussion the party followed John Arbuckle east, through the evil looking figures and found themselves in an eating contest where everything was poisoned. After sending in Baboon P. Goofy as the party competitor, the group found that Arbuckle seemed to be immune to the poison. The group tried to start a fight, very, very, quickly realized this was not going to go their way, and Jean DePawnd talked them back out of a fight. The party forfeited the challenge and headed back to the crossroads. Here they elected to go north, traversing the poisoned patch of air without issue.
