Across Turoza, Tieflings are known as the 'Infernal Ones', or the 'Cursed Ones', and they bear the marks of a pact made long ago by their descendants they, or any other sapient species, have not been allowed to forget. In the far distant past of the Nomadic Era, the leaders of the tribe from which the Tieflings stem appealed to an unknown power from a hellish plane for assistance against another group of nomadic peoples. Unbeknownst the members of the tribe, their leaders vowed to sacrifice their defeated enemies to the power in exchange for aid. This infernal aid was granted, but when the tribes were victorious they failed to hold up their end of the bargain, and refused to sacrifice the lives of innocents to a power the majority of them had not wanted to invoke in the first place. Enraged by their refusal, the hellish power killed the ringleaders who had promised the sacrifices to them, torturing them beyond all measure of pain, and warping them into hellish thralls to serve in the hellish planes. The rest of the tribe they cursed, and from that moment Tieflings stood on the world of Ulskandar.
What makes other species particularly wary of Tieflings, is the physical marks of their infernal heritage. Tieflings can bear a variety of physical variations to their anatomy most commonly:
- Horns - similar to those found on sheep or goats. Most Tieflings have a single pair of horns, though some bear multiple pairs.
- Tails - Tiefling tails can vary from being more reptilian in form, to those reminiscent of devil's tails, or like those of cattle.
- Skin colour - Tiefling skin colour ranges widely across the colour spectrum with reds, greens, purples and blues being common colours
Growth Rate & Stages
Tieflings, like Humans are considered to be mature between the ages of 16-20, depending on where they reside. In the Emirate of Taqwal, where there is a majority Tiefling population, Tieflings and other Sapient Species are legally considered as adults from the age of 17.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Tieflings are to be found across the continent of Turoza, but they are very rarely found beyond its shores. In Turoza itself, Tieflings are an uncommon, but recognisable site, in most of the Kingdoms, but in the Emirate of Taqwal, they make up the majority population.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Other species predominantly treat Tieflings with suspicion due to their obvious infernal heritage. Due to the state of conflict between the Sultanate of Fashaddon and the Emirate of Taqwal, and the treatment of Tieflings under the Sultanate's rule, Tieflings are very wary of Half-Orcs.
