  Thickly built, rugged humanoids with powerful physiques, Orcs have the extraordinary ability to shrug off wounds that would otherwise kill a normal humanoid of the same size. There have been claims of Auhks surviving with only half of their body intact or even carrying on when missing parts of their brain.

Naming Traditions

Orcish surnames are commonly derived after their ancestor's profession. So, for instance, an orc from a proud line of hunters or warriors may have the surname "Hunter" or "Killer". Whereas an orc born into a line of domestic workers or labourers may have a surname like "Washer" or "Digger".

Racial Features

Die Hard

Your hardy body can withstand blows that would shatter a weaker being. When you are knocked unconscious, you are automatically stabilized. However, you remain vulnerable to additional attacks, and should you suffer further damage will need to make death-saving throws as normal. You must finish a long rest before you can use this feature again.  

Powerful Build

Your body is mighty powerful for a creature of your size. When lifting, pulling or otherwise moving object you are considered one size larger. You are also able to carry as much a creature one size larger than yourself.  

Susceptible Mind

Unfortunately, your mind is far more susceptible to being magical or physically manipulated. You have disadvantage on saving throws against the effects of charms or mind controls.  

Great Strength

Your body is a temple and with the right training, it could rise to become mighter than most of your peers could ever hope to match. The maximum Strength score that you can achieve is raised from 20 to 22.

Alternative Racial Features

The following features can be take in place of standard racial features.

 

Iron Will

Replaces: Great Strength & Susceptible Mind
While some of your kin focus on physical prowess, you have chosen to sharpen your mind instead of your body. You now have advantage on saving throws against charms and mind-control effects.

Racial Feats

You may pick any one of the following racial feats in place of an ordinary feat upon reaching the appropriate level.

 

Die Harder

Requires a level 5 or higher character.
After undergoing strenuous training, you have honed your physical condition so as to endure the rigours of battle. You can now use the Die Hard feature a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier. Furthermore, you can re-roll a failed constitution save against an instant death once a day.

Racial Heritages

Orcs are born from two parents. Pick one of the following options.  

Fully Orc

You parents are of Orchis ancestry at least from what you know. / You are resistant to Bludgeoning Damage.
 

Human

Human blood flows through your veins: while this leaves you somewhat weaker in body than your peers, your mind is fortified against the wiles of the world. / You lose the racial feature "Susceptible Mind" and replace one point of Strength for Charisma.
