Palor Altor
The Panther Blooded; Earthen Children
There are many ruins spew throughout the Dragondown Coast; and while some scavanger cartels or tribals poke through these old dungeons, few are sutitable for settling into. This old collosuem, rumored to once having been dedicated to the Badé, Our Lord in Iron, Nerathilord of War, had become partially submerged into the highlands under the Teeth of Lormoch.
Conflict seems to seek out those at the the most northern reach of the Greying Lands, surrounded by a few miles of salt heaths and red soil. Built in the shelter of the Shadar-kai Keep during the Nerathilord’s height, this village stands as a feeble light at the edge of civilization after coming under the protection of the tribal warlord, Sterling.Defences
The Blackthorn Clan served and acted as savanna scouts and protectors of areas Chef's interest. With the Shepard council's guidance, many of the Blackthorn are tasked with the protection of the chef's people. Anyone can join the Blackthorn Clan, should they successful through a rite of passage: partake in a hunt against a Devil, a Tzepharion. Blackthorn armor is often made form their hide, in combination with brass plating and panther fur to ward away corruptive influence. Or so it is believed. The Jenn-Tourach are have their own paramilitary group, lead by an elder Asiman named Tadesse. These long-sword masters often wear straw hats of different size or colours related to battle deeds they have accomplished in their lives. These Terra Teams are often viewed with skepticism as well as reverance. For many Terra Teams would strike down powerful enemies or warlords that threaten Palor Altor.
Recently a Terra Team has gone missing in the Shadar-kai Keep.
Industry & Trade
Otherwise, Palor Altor is unable to sustain any barter for such frivolities as gold or magical goods. The Ankar-Te had their own druids and magewrights, able to enhance items with limited magic. But most industry and trade in Palor Altor is for rations - with really fatty cuts of meat are the most valuable of all. They also crafted toasting taquila - a liquorice flavored beverages.
Districts
The Kell
The name given to the neighborhood located in the break of the great ring walls of Palor Altor. It is the poorest district in the city, made up of poorly constructed, wooden buildings, some of them many stories in height. Many trade in beast of burden - such as Sapscourge Buffaloes, Sagecane Deers, and Karkadanns. With entire pens being dedicated to housing domesticated Clothflies and Deadleaf Slaters.
Riverfolly
The largest neighborhood of Palor Altor, focused predominantly on manufacturing and crafting. Framing the walls of the old coloseum, it houses countless smithies, work houses, and mills, many of which are powered by the many streams, aqueducts, and canals that criss-cross this part of town. Trading in salt blocks, Mariner’s Friend baskets or container, and fish are common here. Expect to see tamed Fleecemane Lions lounging about, keeping a keen eye on the locals.
The Jenn-Tourach
A district located within its massive walls. As such, it is almost entirely "indoors", with no access to natural sunlight. The inhabitents are mostly Earth Ashiman, and readily accept any of their kin who can no longer pass as human. The Earth Asiman, who collectively go by the "Jenn-Tourach" to denote their tribal alliegence, are some of the finest craftsmen. Being able to shape the earth earth to find weapons and armor. Their Long-Sword guards - their Terra Teams - makes them a force to be reckoned with.
Blackthorn Manor
The largest building in Palor Altor, an imposing structure that once housed the leader of the Night Cloaks of Ioun - and may very well be connected to the Shadar-kai Keep. A fortified villa, easily three stories in height with thickly constructed walls. Its gardens of Stargazer Bloom, Fiendsgate Wisteria, and Shifter’s Jasmine invite any of the inhabitents to hold an audiance in the shadow of the Manor. But with Sterling's recent sickness, few dare seek out this lesuire. Many old-bloods of the township believe the savanna belongs to them and will compete fiercely with other communities - primarily tribals from outside their walls - for domiance of near by resources. Nomads and Scavangers are allowed to trade with the locals, but only so long as they respect the authoirty of the Chief and Shepherd Council.
