Thadones opposed Zygat for the title of Overlord after the death of previous Overlord Djembwe. Although Thadones had popular support due to his history of service and leadership skills, Zygat was able to best Thadones in all challenges and duels. Despite being tradition for the new Overlord to slay their challenger, Overlord Zygat proclaimed with his first decree that senseless internal bloodshed must end; he instead opted to make Thadones the cavalry commander, which Thadones begrudgingly accepted. As a centaur master archer, Thadones harries enemy fronts with squadrons of highly mobile archers, whittling down even the strongest of armies through attrition.
