Dendera
The Divine Inventor
Dendera predates mortals and has provided his guiding hand several times throughout mortal history. At this point it is believed that the majority of the most remembered inventors and major breakthroughs in technology have been inspired by him. Dendera is also functionally the smith of the gods, providing many goods that aid in deific life, as well as supplying those gods aligned with him with weapons and armour as a means of defending their realms.
Origins
Dendera was born of a union between Veren and Ild in the age before mortals roamed Mitvort. The event of his birth is lost to time, but it is known that Mitvort was devoid of magic for some time after Dendera's arrival, restored by Veren only after the first mortals were placed on the middle plane.
Activity
Dendera became immediately useful to the gods as he began to create nearly as he existed, providing siege weapons during the ongoing Void War, for use by the gods of Gennun against those of Lakø. These siege weapons propelled the Gennunvasir to victory over their opponents, and Dendera was hailed as a hero of the war.
After some time, Dendera became bored of their time as they became unable to put his inventions to use for anything with the war over and Gennun as controlled as it would be. For this, Ild gave his favoured child a gift-- mortals whom Dendera may teach and watch over. Petitioning, then, his other parent, Dendera convinced Veren to return magic to Mitvort that his mortals could see the power that creation could hold in its full extent.
In the following centuries, Dendera primarily watched in horror as the mortals struggled to create, having been forbidden to interact directly. Before history was written, after nearly a millenium of sadness, Dendera created the Dendric Obelisk, which gave those who found it the knowledge of the basics to create time for thought.
