Sol: Fire Abilities

BASIC FIRE MAGIC

(Pre-Mesan — self-taught instinct + natural affinity)

This is the level where Sol can manipulate and generate fire, but not on a massive or deeply magical scale yet.

Ember Palm

Creates concentrated fire in his palms for close combat strikes.

  • Leaves burning marks on armor
  • Can heat metal weapons during grapples
  • Often used instinctively in fights

Flame Veil

Wraps thin fire around his body or clothing briefly.

Uses:

  • Resistance against cold
  • Intimidation
  • Burning away shadow residue or webs/vines

Not powerful enough to stop major attacks yet.

Kindling Spark

Small precision flame generation.

Uses:

  • Lighting campfires
  • Heating objects
  • Tiny controlled flame manipulation

Tarana probably teases him for dramatically lighting candles with it.

Burning Arc

Channels fire along the edge of his sword during swings.

Effects:

  • Leaves streaks of flame in the air
  • Adds heat damage to strikes
  • Can melt weaker shadow matter

One of his signature early combat techniques.

Ash Step

A quick burst of flame from the feet to increase movement speed briefly.

Not teleportation.
More like explosive acceleration.

Useful for:

  • Dodging
  • Closing distance
  • Sudden directional shifts

Hearth Pulse

A calm, low-intensity warmth aura.

Almost unconscious.

People near him:

  • feel warmer
  • calmer
  • safer

This ability grows stronger emotionally over time.

Honestly? Elara probably notices this before Sol does.

INTERMEDIATE FIRE MAGIC

(Royal Circuit era / growing mastery before Rallinth’s blessing)

Sol starts understanding shaping fire instead of merely producing it.

Flame Lash

Creates whip-like streams of fire from the hands or sword.

Uses:

  • Disarming enemies
  • Area denial
  • Pulling objects closer

Ignition Burst

A short-range explosive fire shockwave.

Usually triggered by:

  • anger
  • panic
  • desperation

Can throw enemies backward.

Dangerous indoors. Very dangerous in forests. Liniver has Opinions™.

Solar Forge

Superheats weapons or armor through touch.

Can:

  • repair cracked metal temporarily
  • strengthen blades during battle
  • burn through restraints

This foreshadows his later divine smithing affinity.

Emberstorm

Launches multiple fire projectiles rapidly.

Not elegant.
Very battlefield-oriented.

  • flaming arrows without a bow
  • rapid fire bursts
  • suppressive combat pressure

Lionheart Flame

Channels fire into physical strength and endurance.

Effects:

  • enhanced stamina
  • increased striking force
  • resistance to pain

This is where Mesani combat styles begin influencing him.

Fire Wall

Creates temporary barriers of flame.

Early versions:

  • unstable
  • exhausting
  • difficult to maintain

But excellent for protecting civilians or blocking shadow creatures.

POST-MESAN: RALLINTH-BLESSED FIRE

(After Rallinth amplifies and unlocks his true fire affinity)

Rallinth’s Roar

A massive forward eruption of dragonfire.

Effects:

  • vaporizes weaker shadow entities
  • cracks stone
  • creates shockwaves

Usually unleashed through rage or absolute resolve.

Crownfire Mantle

A royal flame aura cloaking his body.

Visuals:

  • gold-orange flames
  • ember particles drifting upward
  • eyes glowing brighter

Effects:

  • burns nearby enemies
  • greatly boosts durability
  • enhances intimidation

This becomes one of his iconic battlefield forms.

Sunflare Cleave

Channels concentrated flame through a weapon strike.

Results:

  • creates giant flaming arcs
  • splits enemy formations
  • leaves molten scars in terrain

This is terrifying combined with his solar magic later.

Phoenix Drive

A high-speed flame propulsion technique.

He becomes almost comet-like in motion.

Used for:

  • aerial leaps
  • devastating charges
  • rapid battlefield traversal

Inferno Dominion

Large-scale battlefield control.

Sol can:

  • shape existing fires
  • redirect enemy flames
  • create expanding rings of heat

At this point, ordinary fire wielders cannot overpower him.

Heart of Rallinth

The highest level of his pure fire abilities.

His fire becomes partially divine.

Effects:

  • flames stop obeying natural laws
  • fire burns shadow/spiritual corruption directly
  • extreme resistance to magical cold and darkness

His presence alone raises surrounding temperatures.

People near him describe it as:

“standing near the sun without being burned.”

COMBINED FIRE + SOLAR TECHNIQUES

(Late series / divine mastery)

Fire stops being merely elemental and starts merging with celestial force.

Dawnfire

Solar fire infused with purification.

Burns:

  • corruption
  • shadow residue
  • curses

without harming innocent living beings.

Golden Nova

A massive radial explosion of solar flame.

One of his strongest attacks.

Visually:

  • blinding gold-white fire
  • expanding solar ring
  • thunder-like sound

Crown of the First Flame

The closest Sol comes to embodying Fax directly.

His flames:

  • turn white-gold
  • distort air and gravity
  • feel ancient and divine

This form would terrifies even allies the first time they witness it.
