Hallow-Vault

"The plague, the infection, the madness that haunts the corpses of Hallow-Vault... the light that screams out from the eyes of this dead Kingdom. What is the source? I suppose mere mortals like myself will never understand."--Drakenmire the Elder     Once an uncivilized wasteland, the king and conqueror brought with him many boons, and was accepted with open arms by most. However, as the age of enlightenment ended, an era of penance set in. The “dreaming plague” is what the people have taken to calling it, an ailment that affects the living and the dead, no nation, scholar, or holy person seems to know its origin. It is only known the be angry, to spread, to take over the dead and make them walk and speak its words again, and to accost the living in dreams, driving them to madness, terror, and turning them against even those that they once loved. The nation as it is struggles, the people go hungry, revolt, and beg for a solution, while the king tries every effort, no matter how brutal it seems to contain the situation. Many in the upper echelons blame their neighbors to the north, and there is talk open in the streets of enacting some revenge against their neighbors, who have no respect for the dead, who many believe are the cause of the plague.   This land consists of:

Near War

Standing at the precipice of war, one nation seeks to settle what they see as injustice and a plague brought about by disrespect for the dead, the other seeks to defend its way of life, and secure its position in the world, before it suffers the same plague as its unfortunate neighbor.
