The Elven Kingdom

Observation Log of KLO Mimi Lakes: KLO The Elven Kingdom

Praymonth the 30th, Year 54 of the Century of the Nymphs, 26th Cycle

Under the care of Taegrin, I was allowed to visit the Elven Kingdom's place library. I have to write a report about the Elven Kingdom, as it is so old, and it is something Taegrin can help me with.

The Elven Kingdom

In the north of the Great Forest lies the Elven Kingdom. It is one of the two oldest cities in Turien, the other being Southern Cove where the Mermaid Palace is. It spans a large chunk of the Great Forest, although most it is rare to find a Forest Elf that lives outside of the Kingdom's borders. Reagan, for example, is someone who does live outside the borders. The borders go from the Forest's edge at The Point, down to a darker green part of the Forest, where a large number of Oak Dryads sleep, just north of the middle of the Great Forest.
Taegrin: I know you are looking for something. You don't have to tell me, each Department in the KLS have their own secrets, even from each other.
Mimi: Does your department have secrets too?
Taegrin: Kinda. Moreso we won't release anything unless we know the information is solid. So, secrets are only temporary.
Mimi: That makes sense.
To the east, the border of the Kingdom is the hills. these are the hills that the waterfall that the Palace resides on, so the Palace makes up part of the border of the Elven Kingdom. I heard some stories about Elven punishments in the hills and a temporarily hidden Human population there. But the hills are mostly dominated by the empty trees of the First Generation of Dryads. They used to grow a lot bigger than the Dryads today - or maybe they were bloated after death.
A few cycles ago, the kingdom was made up of multiple towns and cities, but now the borders are a lot more merged and most places are now simply known as suburbs, even if they are more parsley populated than the smaller Human towns and villages.

People
Forest Elves are the ones that inhabit the city. Before Dark Elves existed, all Elves lived in the Elven Kingdom, as soon as Dark Elves became their own sub-race, they built their own kingdom in the Underground. There are few Nymphs that live with the Forest Elves, particularly in the outer suburbs, and a few Mermaids, but there are mostly Elves.
Kinda funny how the two cities with the longest history are the most racially exclusive. Well, the Mermaids hardly have a choice, but Elves on the other hand...

Taegrin's library
I was also able to look at Taegrin's family's library. There is a section on Nymph stories. One looks interesting, I feel like I've heard it before - different but same base. I'll have to go to see my home after visiting AB and see if there is more info behind it.

The Palace
Built into the waterfalls of Levinlea, the Palace is the tallest building in the Elven Kingdom. Tish tells me that it goes far underground as well, but even she is unable to know just how far, at least, not yet. We lamented over the secrets our organisations keep from us while we are young and low ranking.
I checked the tunnels behind the waterfall again. Tish led me to even more than last time, but they only went further from the waterfall. As much as I wanted to swim with the dragonfish in the river, I could feel a repulsion to it as well. Not that it wasn't there last time, but I noticed it more this time. And this time, I have suspicions and questions. There was one tunnel that, although led away from the waterfall, I could feel the same repulsion, particularly as we travelled upwards.
Taegrin: I think inexperienced is the better term. What have you been telling her anyways?
Tish: Just that the turtle overlord of the Ocean has sent her on a spy mission that can only be uncovered by scouring every library in existence.
Taegrin: ... and you believe her?
Tish: I'm looking forward to the story of the library that isn't in existence.
Taegrin: Right ...
Tish: Nymphs, right?
Taegrin: Yeah ...

The Royal Library
Taegrin is very familiar with this place. Even though he went to school here, I wouldn't be surprised if he knew more about the library than the KLO who work here.
Except for the hidden archives. His face when he found out there was a place he didn't know about was HILARIOUS! I even took a photo of it! Ah, phone cameras are great.
There is a pool in the First Generation hills. There could be ... a clue ... there.
Taegrin: Who gave her a smartphone?

Taegrin: Mimi collapsed again. I connected the crystal like I was taught, and called Almeta Bearach. I left the room once all was orange.
  She will be okay, right?
