Lecturer: Mimi, I haven't heard much from you since your letter on Taegrin's artifact. I thought you might be holding out on us, but after meeting you recently, I see that you have been going through some emotional turmoil. To hear that you will be able to join the Search and Rescue team and still be able to find Reagan will be an achievement that will be celebrated in the Depths for years to come. Although you will keep our city a secret, the Depths knows that a Depths Naiad was what was needed in order to find a well-known and valued scientist from a kidnapping case gone wrong. Furthermore,  you will be restoring peace to the Great Forest, hopefully before it is needed. I hope you will keep in touch with Hoen about the case, regardless of what the Knowledge Liasion Systam and the Council ask of you. 

Speaking of artifacts, have you noticed anything strange with your Brooch recently? I have intercepted a secret letter from Elder Jazzach to the Queen of Mermaids that mentions the sister artifact to your brooch and its recent strange happenings (you can thank the recklessness of you sister's travel friend's aunt's chef's niece for that).

Here, I'll relay the letter to you, as it is pertinent to your safety. I suppose I also understand that Almeta Bearach, the bearer of the spear artifact is counted as a friend to you, and has helped you greatly over the last few months. At least, that is what it sounded like when you kept talking about his cookies and the number of people trying to reproduce them for you. If you end up finding Regan, I will send you a set of phone crystals, so you may speak to each other face to face without worrying half of Turien. 

The letter:

Dear Queen Nadiene,

I continue to worry about my brother, Almeta Bearach. There was another case of rage last night. It lasted only a moment, he himself was not even aware of it. No one was hurt, nor was there damage to the house. But this has increased the frequency of these momentary rages and I can't help but be wary of the spear artifact he holds. I cannot take it from him, even in secret, it is like a magnet he will find. Although I have only hidden it in the house, I am wary of the potential rage effects it might have on him if they increase a certain distance from each other. I believe this may be so because I read the documents of the early Northern Warrior Mermaids and the Elders from our lineage. 

Also, the spear can be seen to be glowing when they start to get too far apart. It's not even that far, but, as I said, I worry. 

I thought he spent too much time in the house, but now he often goes to the (cliff) and sits there, holding the spear, and stares. Sometimes I worry that he was too active, trying to find mosses and create recipes for that Naiad ... (paper scribbled out here). However, now he often just sits and stares. I heard Mimi is depressed, he can't have caught it from her? I know that's not how it works, but with the artifacts they hold ... 

I'm thinking of sending him to her. Just for a visit. But ... (many more scribbles). Torri says she and Mayder know someone who can look after him for a while on land. Only for three days. And he better not get hurt. But, should I allow the spear to go with him if I do this? On land? I ask that you let me follow him and look after him. Surely, this would sound like Elder duties this time?
