Green-Eyed Parrot Species in Tûran | World Anvil

Green-Eyed Parrot

The Green-Eyed Parrot was discovered around the same time Animalia Isle was discovered. Kuskyn Dornwood was part of the expedition and he was the first to discover the main traits of this incredible animal.
It absolutely does the name 'parrot' justice as it will repeat everything you tell it, exactly as you say it. Not only that, but it has an incredible sense of direction and can easily retrace its steps. So this animal was used very quickly as a messenger. Taken off the island in droves and sold all over Tûran, to the point where it was almost extinct in its original home.
The sanctuary status of the island came just in time to save the parrot and bring it back from the brink of extinction.
It is still used as a working animal and a messenger, but it is much more regulated and it's almost impossible to take them from Animalia Island now, where they are thriving again.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Its plumage is mostly tints of yellow, but its most remarkable feature is its bright green eyes. That is how it got its name.

Ecology and Habitats

Its main habitat is the rainforest side of Animalia Isle.

Dietary Needs and Habits

They mainly eat nuts and fruit, but can also live on vegetables (cooked or raw), which makes them very easy pets.

Additional Information

Domestication

They are very docile as a species, so easy to capture and domesticate. They also love the attention they get from humanoids, so they are easy to tame.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

They are used mainly as messenger animals and in lesser frequency to help those that are lost find their way back (if they had a Green-Eyed Parrot with them).

Geographic Origin and Distribution

They originated on Animalia Isle, but can now be found all over Tûran.

Average Intelligence

Green-Eyed Parrots seem to be extremely intelligent. Especially in the way they can easily navigate to a city or even person by just saying that name.
