The Carpentress

Friend of The Walrus

The Carpentress

Summary

A resident of The Enchanted Wood who shares a powerful kinship with The Walrus, whom she sees as both pet and boon companion. The Carpentress' nature isn't as straightforward as some other figments', and she is known for erratic behavior, wild speculations, and devouring helpless oysters. Though normally mild-mannered, she carries a set of four enormous wood picks with her wherever she goes, and uses them with extreme prejudice on anyone who dares to harm her Walrus friend.   Those who cross her often suffer unfortunate "accidents" in addition to becoming the target of a furious, tireless assault. A few incautious inhabitants of the Wood have already met their end in this way. While her temperament is legendarily dangerous, she does live up to her namesake as a skilled woodworker. The various Courts of Cards often invite her to socials and seek to purchase her latest masterpiece in order to lord it over their rivals.   When she isn't occupied elsewhere, she can inevitably be found on the beach, taking long, relaxing walks with The Walrus. If her mammalian companion ever replies to her thoughtful remarks, only she can hear.
