Ame-no-HIboko Character in Tsuwamono | World Anvil

Ame-no-HIboko

Japanese Goddess of Nature and Animals

Elan content adapted for Tsuwamono from Rafael (Beryl) in the Anima: Beyond Fantasy Core Rulebook

Sandalwood Saint Ame-no-Hiboko (a.k.a. 天日槍)

Ame-no-Hiboko is a nature deity of middling strength who resides in physical form at Izushi-jinja in Tajima Province. She is supposedly tied to a holy sandalwood tree at this shrine, and is attended by Sarasoju no Miko, the Priestess of the Sandalwood.   Though Hiboko is a kitsune, she does not share the duplicitous tendencies of most of her kin, and instead is content to remain in tranquility at her shrine and oversee the balance of natural creatures under her domain. This emphasis on peacefulness sometimes puts her at odds with Ōkuninushi, another nature deity whose focus is more on the active aspects of the natural world and its interactions with humans.   Ame-no-Hiboko has officially given her patronage to the Yamana Clan, whose unobtrusive study of the natural world falls in line with her aspect. Though she does not approve of violence, she has been known to neutralize conflicts against the Yamana Clan, or Tajima Province in general, always through peaceful means.

Cost: 5 | Requirements: Elan 10   Healing: The bearer of this gift may use their hands to heal their own, or another character's wounds at a rate of 5 LP per turn. The maximum amount of LP that can be healed in this manner per day is equal to the user's total Elan level. If applied to undead creatures, the life energy will damage them instead. Such creatures may make an MR check with a difficulty equal to twice the holder's total Elan level to avoid receiving damage equal to their level of failure. This amount is also deducted from the character's total healing for that day.
Cost: 10 | Requirements: Elan 20   Fertility Cloak: The holder's mere presence intensifies animal and vegetable growth and expansion in the area around them. Plants sproud with renewed strength, while animals live strong and healthy. The Power income of any province in which the character has spent at least a week is increased by 1 for that month.

The GM must choose a natural animal, which will appear to the character and accompany him or her from then on. The Totem acts similar to a familiar, but the character does not need to sustain it with Zeon. A Totem has the same statistics as an animal of the same species, but with its level increased to match that of the character, its Gnosis raised to 25, and its intelligence is increased by 5. The Totem speak telepathically with its master, and they may connect their senses. If the Totem is ever killed or otherwise destroyed, the bearer of this gift may bring it back to life by sacrificing 10 Elan points.

Larger animals, such as bears or elephants, will instead respond in a one-to-five ratio. The bearer of this gift may only use it to call one species at a time, which will hurry to him as quickly as they are able, and may be used once a day.
Cost: 10 | Requirements: Elan 60   Animal Transformation: The holder of this gift may transform into a natural animal, acquiring all of its characteristics and associated abilities.
