Alex Loom

Personal history

Alex was born as the firstborn and only son of the Loom family. Growing up he idolized his family and loved to help where he could, creating all sorts of new wear for people with different jobs. The repetitive job of Looming was a little too boring and preferred to create far more. He loved to adventure the forests nearby with his sister Sam and later Molly. He also had the kids from town but many of them preferred to stay in the town. He hardly knew when to be serious and became known as a trouble maker for a laugh himself or for Sam when she started to grown glum. He felt similar to Sam, where he wanted to leave the town and explore, even promising to her that they would one day. When raiding parties started to attack the town when he well and truly a teenager, he joined with the older members but his father had forbidden it. Worrying for his son but that didn't stop him from sneaking around. Even having been there then his father was taken alive by the raiders, at least Alex believed he was alive. He had been hiding by his father's instructions, more accurately, locked his son into a storage room. Afterward, he almost became as bitter as Sam but at least he tried to hide it. People that came into town were watched by Alex, he was also waiting to see if his father would return, he didn't spend much time exploring anymore. The town even held a funeral for all that had been lost, with a body or not. He attended the others but not his father's, he didn't want to accept it. 
Sprocket showing up in town one day did manage to change something in him, that child wonder about the outside. It started slow, he didn't want him even in the town in case he was a spy for the raiders, but when he was invited into the Loom home by his mother that wall slowly broke down as he realised that he never really had a real friend and the need to find out more was pressing on the back of his mind. So, they became friends. Like brothers and were rarely seen apart. The pranking and such was back as a double trouble pack.
The raiding of the children in town caused a new concern as it was the first in a long while. Alex created a new group to protect the town, but this time with a plan and Sprocket's mechanic skills. They were going to make and use a load of new traps, for a few weeks they could effectively counter such mild raids but before long more raiders showed up. This war that Alex had created caused a split in the town, those that wanted to fight and those that wanted to leave it be. There was no stopping the fight that came from it all, the raiders stormed the town. This wasn't a simple group of savage men, this was a military take over. The rebellion group was eventually rounded up away from town. Then asked about a leader, Alex announced himself. He announced himself with a gun in hand, one that he had gotten a year ago, and convinced Sprocket to clean up and fix. Alex told them to leave and never to return. He knew that the attempt was weak, when the leader started to laugh, he knew that there was no way that he could have scared them off. His last-ditch effort, firing the gun. Managing to get three shots in the chest of the leader, only for him to look down in surprise with no damage having been dealt. Alex was mocked before being shot in the head himself.
